New Life

In 2013, I made a bold leap, leaving behind her career, family, and friends in Russia to start anew in the vibrant city of Hong Kong.

The move proved transformative. Immersed in the city’s dynamic energy, I delved deep into my own soul through the practice of Kundalini yoga, meditation, and mantra singing. This journey of self-discovery unveiled hidden depths within me, revealing the profound importance of self-connection, acceptance, and love.

As a result, my music evolved significantly. My intentions, performances, and even my voice underwent a metamorphosis, reflecting a heart that had grown expansively open.

I channeled this newfound clarity into writing a series of songs, which I released in 2015. Explore these musical reflections below.

Additionally, in 2019, I directed a compelling documentary about Butoh dancer Syv Bruzeau, who healed from cancer through art therapy, natural methods, and inner love. You can also watch this inspiring film below.

I am happy to announce that I made a documentary film about a Butoh dancer Syv Bruzeau who had cancer and fibromyalgia and healed herself using art therapy, natural methods, and feeling unconditional love inside.

This is my first complete work where I am director, composer, camera operator and editor. And I had a beautiful team working with me:

Craig Ogilvie who shoot the first dance scene,

Elena Safronova as the designer of text and poster maker,

Tatiana Betmakaeva who helped me with professional translation from English to Russian

Nikolay Gagarin - who helped me with technical support and editing

My teacher - Alexey Babenko - who prepared me for this big step in my life for more than 5 years.

And of course my family which supports me always!

The idea of the film popped up unexpectedly and during 2,5 months I worked on it every day from early morning to late night. I learned a lot, creating music, and doing editing. I loved it!

This film is about life! That we human beings can heal ourselves. We have the capacity to heal inside of us.

The premier of this documentary will be on this Sunday April 21st on my YouTube channel at 21:00.

NEW SONG

I created this song after my Japan trip. This trip was amazing. I met a woman, a beautiful butoh dancer, Syv Bruzeau who was struggling with cancer a while ago. She dived into her pain, she was speaking with pain, she was dancing her illness, she decided to live, she found love inside and spread this love to all of her body. Now she feels happy to live, happy to dance and happy to love.
I dedicate this song to all who are struggling with pain. We all experience different kind of pain but it is our reminder that nothing really matters but love. Let’s find love inside and share this love with everyone🙏

Unexpected logo

My life has different periods which help me to create my music, create myself. Sometimes my life directions take opposite sides. From jazz to pop, from club house diva to absolutely spiritual person with a singing bowl and a shamanic drum and this is how I am ballancing myself. I was thinking about my logo many many times, I even created some but never oficially accepted by myself. Cause wnen I am about to change my mindset - that logo becomes old-fashioned. So I just made up my mind to my contradictory personality and allowed myself to be, allowed situations to happen and allowed people to appear in my life.

This logo came to me unexpectedly from my lovely friend photographer Ivanna Vivcharyk who was trying to create a poster to promote her personal exhibition where I am going to sing Ukrainian songs on November 17th with great musicians.

That photo was taken by my beautiful friend Yana Vilkina and retouched by Ivanna in such an interesting way. So I like it! I like it a lot! Thank you dear friends that you allow me to feel myself through your incredible eyes.

Yana Fortep & Antoine Richard collaboration

Hi dears, I created a new band together with the french guitar player Antoine Richard and our new original program consists of different styles of music which I love. We use loops and effects creating live sound for my new songs.

Our first concert was a success at Peel Fresco club and the second one will be at "Salon 10" on October 26th.

I am waiting for you there.

With peace and love,

Yana.

The Rays of Light

After 3,5 year since I left everything and moved to another country, got married and gave birth to my son, breast fed him for around 1,5 years and didn't think about music at all, then the music found me again.

Walking the difficult path to learn myself, through kundalini yoga, reiki practices,  crystal healing, meditations, and a big will to learn the world around me, myself and the music became one again.
This is my new project called Rays of Light, Music beyond borders and concepts, collaboration with musicians from all over the world, my original songs about peace, forgiveness, love and that we are all one.
We have just started and our first concert will take a place at the Luxe Nova Lifestyle studio on June 22nd where we will start with meditation and I will share with you the meaning of each song, within each a small secret I discovered along my path.

The Guitar  player Dan LaVelle, the crystal bowls player and reiki master, my teacher Stephanie Luo and me Yana.
We are searching for musicians from all over the world to create magic, which will heal our hearts. We know what to say, we feel what to play.
We are Rays of light willing to give people love and peace.
Together we create magic..

Welcome to my world

Hi! I am Yana. I am a singer and a composer. I am a kundalini yoga and reiki practitioner. I love hiking, skiing and crystal healing. I love art in all its forms - music, painting, cinema, architecture, design, fashion… I love philosophical questions. I love books. I love writing. I love my family and friends, my teachers and even those who don’t love me, I love Nature and I love the Love.

I am walking an interesting path filled with ups and downs, flights and fights, sadness and happiness, tears and laughter, love and love and love again. And this is my own unique way through thorns to the stars. From a small girl who dreamt about a stars to the woman who doesnt dream about «be a star» but lives in the present with feeling gratittude for every lesson she learned from everyone in her life path.

Here in these blog and through my music I would like to share my feelings, thoughts and love which my soul radiate just because I am human, just because we all have it since birth of our soul in our mother’s womb.
